Neighbourhood Plan for Tandridge Parish Council

01

April 2026

As some residents may be aware, preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan for the Parish has recently restarted after having been postponed for several years, mainly due to the issues around the Local Plan and the Garden Village. Neighbourhood Plans are an opportunity for a Parish to put forward its wishes as to the things that matter to them, such as the quantity and form of development they might be willing to see and what assets they would like to protect. A working group of 12 residents is preparing the plan and we hope to be able to publish something later this year.

As part of preparing the Neighbourhood Plan we have been working on a SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) for the parish. A draft of this is attached - see link below

We would like residents to contribute to this process, so if you have any comments or additional thoughts on any of these four categories, please would you send these into the email address: tandridgepc@hotmail.co.uk”

St Mary's Primary - Admission Policy Consultation

St Mary's Primary School

21

November 2022

St Mary's Primary are consulting on Admissions arrangements for September 2024. Consultation will take place for six weeks between 21st October and 2ndDecember 2022.

In accordance with the statutory requirements, the admission arrangements which the Governing Body propose to publish for admissions from September 2024 onwards are attached.

The proposed change is highlighted.

The rationale for this is that with the current category No 4 giving preference to applicants with siblings in the school applicants with no siblings have to go into category 5.

This means that applicants living in Old Oxted, where there is no sensible means of public transport often do not get in as places go to pupils in Limpsfied, who live nearer as the crow flies.

Please refer to the ecclesiastical parish maps for further clarification

Roadworks during the coronavirus restrictions

The government and Department for Transport have asked the Highway Sector Council to make every effort to deliver essential highways projects on all local authority highway networks, whilst abiding by the COVID-19 safe working practices. We are therefore carrying out these works in line with central government and COVID-19 safe working practises and in accordance with the CLC Site Operating Procedures, endorsed by Public Health England.

Our sub-contractor will have appropriate procedures in place to ensure their staff can comply with government advice. We would ask that you please respect these workers as they deliver these highways services.

We will continue to keep Surrey moving and all key routes will remain open and safe for key workers. For more information visitRoadworks and maintenance during the coronavirus outbreak - Surrey County Council (surreycc.gov.uk)

Sometimes our plans have to change, often due to bad weather or problems on other works in the same programme which can have a knock on effect. If anything changes with the details of these works, we will let you know.

You and your residents can also find up to date details and receive updates of the works onhttps://one.network/

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us on 0300 200 1003 or emailworks.communication@surreycc.gov.uk.

Refuse and Recycle Collections

Check Your Bin Day

From Monday 5 April our new waste contract with Biffa starts which will affect recycling, rubbish and food waste collections.

For most households, the main change is that weekly food waste will be collected on the same day as recycling or rubbish, but at a different time and in a different vehicle.

Some residents will have a new collection day, or their recycling or rubbish collection days swapped. We have written to all these households advising them of the changes.

You can quickly and easily find out if your property is affected by any of these changes by checking your bin day at www.tandridge.gov.uk/checkmybinday.
